The conservation of a paper binding on Colette, Cheri, Paris: Le Livre de Demain, 1929. Illustrated by G. Jeanniot.
This original paper binding has split joints and minor losses on the spine. The sewing is broken and there are several loose leaves at the front.
The first sections were disbound and mended using kozo paper and wheat starch paste.
The loose sections were reattached using linen thread with a link stitch.
The covers were hinged back onto the spine with heavyweight kozo paper using wheat starch paste.
The original spine pieces were re-adhered.
