Protective enclosure for a lottery game called Aangenaam Lotery-Spel, Bernardus Mourik, Amsterdam, late 18th century.

This lottery game poses an interesting housing problem. The game comprises a title card, 50 numbered picture cards, 49 text cards with rhymed couplets, 12 cards illustrating the months of the year, 54 prize cards, one fortune card, and five dice handmade from bone. The groups of cards measure different sizes, and dice are fragile.

Each group of cards were housed in an individual four flap wrapper, with the dice in their own wrapper padded with Volara®. The wrappers are labeled in gold. They are contained in a cloth clamshell box.
